L’area tematica indaga, con approccio interdisciplinare e critico, le questioni giuridiche, sociali ed etiche emergenti nei settori della medicina, della ricerca biologica, dell’ecologia e dell’etologia, analizzando l’interazione tra progresso scientifico, tutela giuridica e responsabilità istituzionale.

Un’attenzione centrale è riservata al ruolo del diritto nella protezione della salute, nella salvaguardia delle libertà individuali e nella regolazione delle scelte che incidono sulle fasi più delicate della vita umana, incluse le problematiche relative all’inizio e al fine vita, alla sperimentazione scientifica, alla sostenibilità ambientale e al rapporto tra essere umano, animali e ambiente.

The thematic area examines, through an interdisciplinary and critical approach, the legal, social, and ethical issues arising in the fields of medicine, biological research, ecology, and ethology, analysing the interaction between scientific progress, legal protection, and institutional responsibility.

Particular attention is devoted to the role of law in the protection of health, the safeguarding of individual freedoms, and the regulation of decisions affecting the most sensitive phases of human life, including issues related to the beginning and end of life, scientific experimentation, environmental sustainability, and the relationship between humans, animals, and the environment.
